pSTAKE Finance, supported by Binance Labs, is launching a new Bitcoin liquid staking solution using Babylon’s framework. This marks pSTAKE’s expansion from its original Cosmos network focus, where it first introduced liquid staking in 2021.
This partnership aims to streamline staking, allowing Bitcoin holders to earn yields without losing liquidity. Persistence Labs’ co-founder Mikhil Pandey highlighted the potential for Bitcoin to play a significant role in DeFi through simple financial products.
Fisher Yu of Babylon emphasized the collaboration’s goal to enhance Bitcoin’s utility and liquidity, fostering a Bitcoin-powered DeFi ecosystem. Historically, liquid staking was linked to Ethereum, but Babylon’s infrastructure will now offer similar opportunities for Bitcoin users.
pSTAKE will begin accepting BTC deposits soon, marking a milestone for Bitcoin staking solutions. David Tse of Babylon discussed the importance of Bitcoin staking in securing other blockchains.
This initiative is strategically important for integrating Bitcoin into the future of decentralized finance, broadening its use case and benefits.
