The net inflow into spot Bitcoin ETFs exceeded $143 million on July 5, 2024, marking a significant resurgence in the cryptocurrency market. Fidelity Investments led the charge with $117.4 million in inflows.
Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) now has assets under management (AUM) totaling $9.65 billion, making it the third-largest spot Bitcoin ETF in the U.S. Bitwise Asset Management’s ETF, BITB, saw a $30.2 million inflow, bringing its AUM to $2.08 billion. VanEck’s HODL ETF attracted $12.8 million, lifting its AUM to $582 million.
Conversely, Grayscale Investments faced a $28.6 million outflow from its GBTC fund, which has cumulatively lost $18.6 billion since inception and now has an AUM of $15.5 billion.
The recent inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs highlight growing investor confidence in Bitcoin as a viable investment. Increased institutional interest could lead to greater market stability and further inflows, solidifying Bitcoin’s position in financial markets.
