Standard Chartered Bank Lowers Bitcoin Price Forecast Significantly
- Standard Chartered has revised its Bitcoin forecast for 2025 from $200,000 to $100,000.
- The revision is attributed to decreased institutional demand and slower adoption of Bitcoin ETFs.
- In Q4 of the adjusted forecast year, inflows into Bitcoin were only about 50,000 BTC compared to previous quarters.
- Forecasts for subsequent years have also been lowered significantly, with estimates for 2026 at $150,000 (down from $300,000) and for 2027 at $225,000 (down from $400,000).
- The target of reaching $500,000 is now expected to be delayed until at least the year 2030.
This substantial adjustment reflects changing market dynamics and a reevaluation of institutional interest in Bitcoin as capital inflows into ETFs slow down due to macroeconomic factors.
As a result of these changes, Standard Chartered’s new price target for Bitcoin in the coming years highlights a significant shift in market expectations regarding cryptocurrency investments. The updated figure for Bitcoin’s price in Q4 of the adjusted forecast year is now set at just $100,000.
