Bitcoin Mining Difficulty Reaches New Peak

On July 31, 2024, Bitcoin mining difficulty reached an all-time high of 90.67T, marking a 10.50% increase from the previous adjustment. This milestone reflects heightened activity among miners, with the average hash rate at 635.34 EH/s.

Mining difficulty indicates the computational power needed to mine Bitcoin, and its increase signals growing competition. This surge comes after the April 2024 halving, which reduced miners’ rewards by half, prompting increased accumulation by miners.

The next adjustment is expected around August 14, 2024, with a minimal 0.03% projected increase. This continuous rise in difficulty underscores the strategic importance of mining efficiency and technological advancement in sustaining Bitcoin’s network and market behavior.
