Bitcoin Whales Purchase $94.1B in 2023

In 2024, Bitcoin whales have amassed 1.45 million BTC, pushing their total holdings to 1.8 million BTC. This was disclosed by Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant.

Investors are adding roughly 100,000 BTC to their wallets weekly, a pace far exceeding the 70,000 BTC accumulated throughout 2021. The newly acquired Bitcoin is valued at over $94 billion.

This aggressive accumulation signals a significant rise in institutional interest and strategic positioning in the cryptocurrency market. Governments in nine countries collectively hold 517,414 BTC, valued at nearly $34 billion, with the U.S., China, and the U.K. being major holders.

The record-setting accumulation rate in 2024 underscores the dynamic nature of the crypto market. Such substantial investments by key players could enhance market stability and drive higher valuations, indicating a transformative shift in the market landscape.
