CMCC Global Plans Tokenized Bitcoin Funds With Partners

CMCC Global announced plans to issue tokens representing interests in two existing digital-asset fund strategies, Crest and the Liberty Bitcoin Accumulation Fund, under El Salvador’s digital-asset framework. The planned offerings would use Tether’s Hadron infrastructure for issuance and token management, with distribution through Bitfinex Securities. The tokens would represent economic interests in fund shares, not unrestricted ownership of the underlying assets; access would require identity checks, anti-money-laundering checks and whitelisted addresses for eligible self-custody.

Crest aims to outperform Treasury-bill yields in U.S. dollars. The Bitcoin-denominated fund targets an 8% to 12% annualized net return in BTC terms. These are objectives, not guaranteed payments, and a gain in BTC units could still lose value in dollars if Bitcoin’s price falls. BTCS S.A. has agreed in principle to an anchor allocation described as a three-digit amount of Bitcoin, but no exact commitment or completed transfer was disclosed.
