- The fork aims to reassign approximately 500,000 Bitcoin linked to Satoshi Nakamoto’s “Patoshi pattern” to eCash investors.
- Current Bitcoin holders will receive equivalent eCash tokens during the fork.
- The eCash network plans to launch in about four months with Drivechain scaling support and seven sidechains in development.
LayerTwo Labs’ CEO Paul Sztorc has announced a controversial plan to create a Bitcoin hard fork called eCash, reallocating coins believed to belong to Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. This move aims to reinvigorate the blockchain with new investment and prevent it from becoming stagnant.
The proposed hard fork seeks to distribute about half of the estimated Satoshi-linked Bitcoins to new investors while maintaining current Bitcoin holders’ equivalent value in eCash tokens upon launch. (Source)
