Fed Decision: Expectations for Markets and Bitcoin Traders

The Federal Reserve was due to announce an interest rate decision at 2 p.m. ET, with Chair Kevin Warsh’s press conference to follow. No decision was reported. Interest-rate futures put the odds of leaving the target range at 3.75%–4.00% above 90%, but those odds are not a Fed decision.

The Fed raised the range in a unanimous September vote. Futures and prediction markets put the odds of another quarter-point increase at the Dec. 8–9 meeting at 75%–80%. The Fed was not due to publish new economic projections at this meeting; those were expected in December.
