A Bitcoin address first funded on September 11, 2013, made its first outgoing transfer, moving 411.45 BTC worth about $33.4 million, according to Galaxy Research. Arkham data shows the coins remain in a new, unlabeled address, not an exchange, so it is unclear whether the owner plans to sell.
Galaxy identified the sending address as one of 39,069 dormant addresses named in a New York lawsuit. The plaintiffs claim the wallets qualify as abandoned property, though they do not hold the private keys. This transfer shows the coins could be moved, but does not establish the status of the other wallets.
