ZetaChain Unveils Gateway for Cross-Chain Apps

ZetaChain has launched Gateway and Localnet to enhance cross-chain interaction for developers and users. The update, announced on July 18, aims to streamline access to apps across multiple networks, including Bitcoin.

Gateway’s integration simplifies the smart contract interface, allowing externally owned accounts (EOAs) to send tokens and call Universal Apps through a unified API. This new system replaces the complex point-to-point messaging with a more efficient hub-and-spoke model.

A standout feature of Gateway is its ability to perform multi-step operations in a single click, like sending Bitcoin to a Universal App or transferring USDC to Ethereum. This improves scalability, chain abstraction, and unified liquidity, reducing system fragmentation.

These updates signify a new era of blockchain interoperability, making it easier for developers and users to maintain and scale their systems. The strategic importance lies in the potential for a more interconnected and efficient blockchain ecosystem.
