Blockchain Enhances Dubai Customs Trade Transparency

Dubai Customs has launched a new blockchain platform to enhance trade transparency and efficiency in Dubai and beyond. This initiative, spearheaded by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aligns with Dubai’s blockchain strategy and aims to bolster non-oil trade.

This groundbreaking platform promises streamlined customs processes, reduced paperwork, and significant cost savings. It enhances supply chain efficiency by providing secure, tamper-proof data sharing, which fosters trust and visibility.

Atiq Almehairi, Executive Director of the Customs Development Division, emphasized its role in real-time tracking and combating fraud. The platform supports Dubai’s goal to transition 50% of government transactions to blockchain by 2021.

Overall, this initiative positions Dubai as a global hub for trade and logistics, reflecting its strategic vision for a transparent and efficient business environment.
