Injective Integrates USMD with Mountain Protocol

Injective, a blockchain for finance incubated by Binance and backed by investors like Pantera and Mark Cuban, has integrated Mountain Protocol. This integration allows Injective users to use Mountain Protocol’s yield-bearing stablecoin USDM as collateral for derivatives trading.

The support for USDM is a first for Injective, enabling users to earn yields on Treasury Bill-backed assets and use the stablecoin as a margin in perpetual trading. Helix, an Injective-based decentralized exchange, will be the first dApp to offer USDM as collateral.

Eric Chen, CEO of Injective Labs, emphasized that this collaboration bridges traditional and decentralized finance, benefiting the real-world assets (RWA) ecosystem. Previously, Injective integrated with Ondo Finance to bring the tokenized treasury token USDY into its ecosystem, further enhancing its RWA use case.

This partnership allows users to access traditional assets without third-party providers, reducing fees and regulatory hurdles. Overall, the integration with Mountain Protocol ensures users have full ownership of yields, marking a strategic step in expanding Injective’s financial ecosystem.
