Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has announced plans to introduce a mini app store to bolster blockchain activities. This initiative, unveiled on his Telegram channel, aims to accelerate blockchain adoption in 2024.
The mini app store is part of Telegram’s strategy to lead the industry, amid a surge in interest for Telegram-based tap-to-earn games like Notcoin and Hamster Kombat. The Open Network (TON) is also gaining traction, with its native token, Toncoin (TON).
“2024 will go down in history as the year when hundreds of millions of people became familiar with blockchain. We’re proud that Telegram is at the epicenter of this societal transformation,” Durov stated. The platform will also introduce an in-app browser with Web3 support.
Additionally, Telegram aims to combat crypto scammers by displaying registration details for public accounts. It will also allow organizations to issue verification labels, creating a decentralized marketplace.
This initiative is crucial for Telegram’s long-term strategy to become a leader in the blockchain space and ensure a safer crypto environment.
