Worldcoin, a digital identification platform and cryptocurrency project, has partnered with Web3 infrastructure platform Alchemy to launch its new blockchain, World Chain. Announced in April, World Chain is built on Optimism’s OP Stack and integrates with Ethereum, Coinbase, and other networks in the Superchain.
The blockchain focuses on decentralized finance (DeFi) and digital identity, using proof of personhood technology to prioritize authenticated human users. This system aims to deter bots, ensuring verified users get priority for blockspace and gas allowance.
Worldcoin targets over 10 million users on its World App, leveraging Alchemy’s reliable Web3 infrastructure. Developers will access essential tools like data APIs and account abstraction infrastructure, crucial for self-custodial wallet security.
The partnership emphasizes community-driven growth and developer support, with a developer preview for World Chain coming soon.
