Supra Unveils Moonshot Consensus at DSN 2024

Supra will present its Moonshot consensus mechanism at the DSN 2024 Conference, held from June 24 to 27 at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. The Moonshot whitepaper will be showcased, comparing it against Jolteon, a leading decentralized consensus algorithm.

In November 2023, Microsoft’s IVy Verifier formally verified Moonshot. The mechanism prevents forking with less than a third of the network comprising malicious validators. Moonshot processes 530,000 transactions per second across 125 nodes, offering a 500-millisecond optimistic finality and full block finality within 1.5 to 2 seconds.

Supra has gained prominence with its Distributed Oracle Agreement (DORA), addressing Byzantine faults and data integrity issues in Web3 environments. The platform’s new DAG-based protocol, Sailfish, aims to enhance latency performance further when combined with Moonshot.

Supra’s developments could set a new standard for blockchain capabilities, significantly impacting smart contract reliability and performance.
