Arbitrum Expands Orbit Chain Beyond Ethereum

Arbitrum’s DAO is considering a proposal to expand the Orbit Chain beyond Ethereum, following the Arbitrum Expansion program introduced in January. This program allows projects to customize the Arbitrum codebase for their needs and share profits with the ecosystem.

Due to rising demand, the Foundation now proposes extending Orbit Chain to non-Ethereum networks, including Bitcoin and Binance Smart Chain. This move has received overwhelming community support, with 99.8% of ARB token votes in favor during a recent temperature check.

The proposed expansion could boost ArbitrumDAO’s revenue and strengthen Ethereum Virtual Machines (EVM) and Stylus (EVM+). With a total value locked (TVL) of $3.1 billion, Arbitrum is a leading layer-2 scaling solution on Ethereum.

Expanding Orbit Chain is crucial for maintaining Arbitrum’s technological edge and broadening its ecosystem’s reach.
