Nine US companies oppose OKXICE share tokenization

OKXICE said in a notice dated October 15, 2026, that nine U.S. companies had objected to trading tokenized versions of their shares on its platform. Under a temporary SEC regime, the objections prevent OKXICE from offering those shares, but the restriction applies only to OKXICE and does not mean the companies oppose tokenization generally.

The notice did not give the companies’ reasons. An Applied Optoelectronics representative told The Wall Street Journal that the company was uncertain about possible effects on its share price, liquidity and volatility. OKXICE still plans to offer tokenized shares in other U.S. companies but has not disclosed an exact launch date.
