Binance France plans fees before idle-account closures

Binance France told customers their accounts would close on December 31, 2026, after it failed to obtain a license under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets rules, according to French media reports of its email. Customers who do not withdraw their crypto by then were told their accounts may be treated as inactive; remaining assets may be converted, transferred or otherwise handled under Binance France’s terms.

From November 29, accounts still open will face a monthly fee of 0.025% of their balance or 10 USDC, whichever is higher. Customers who withdraw everything before that date will avoid the fee. About 2 million French customers were estimated to be affected when trading ended on July 1, though they retained the ability to withdraw.
