Binance May Have Lost Half Five-Year Profits

Bitcoin.com News calculated that Binance’s known fines and losses from two major hacks total about $10.7 billion, or roughly 56% of its estimated 2021–2025 pre-tax profits. The calculation includes about $4.34 billion in fines and $6.38 billion stolen in the hacks, but around $3 billion in stolen assets have been frozen. It is unclear how much Binance will recover or when, so its final hack losses could be lower.

The profit comparison relies on an estimate by K33 Research’s Lunde: Binance has not published consolidated financial statements for the group, and the estimate excludes 2026 and years before 2021. Binance says it has covered about 95% of the affected assets and that withdrawals have resumed. Its tracked assets have fallen by more than 11% since the Oct. 29 hack, a decline that also reflects lower crypto prices and the stolen funds.
