Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, burned 1.7 billion Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) tokens on July 1 as part of its 23rd batch of the LUNC burn mechanism. This brings Binance’s total LUNC burn to nearly 62 billion tokens since supporting the community’s revival efforts in 2022.
The Terra Luna Classic community has now burned over 125 billion LUNC tokens, with Binance contributing more than 50% of this total. The significant burn was funded by trading fees from LUNC spot and margin trading pairs.
This latest burn positively impacted the prices of Terra Classic ecosystem tokens, with LUNC and USTC seeing a price increase amid market recovery. LUNC’s price rose by 1% to $0.00008148, while USTC climbed by 2% to $0.01796.
The strategic importance of these burns lies in their potential to stabilize and revive the Terra Luna Classic ecosystem, signaling Binance’s ongoing commitment to this community-driven initiative.
