Bybit Closes China Offices, Staff Relocates #Crypto

Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, plans to close its offices in Shanghai and Shenzhen. This change follows the recent registration opening for Chinese citizens living abroad amidst strict domestic crypto bans.

Bybit aims to relocate its Chinese employees to Malaysia and Dubai, consolidating its international presence. Employees who don’t relocate may be laid off with compensation. This move underscores Bybit’s commitment to following international regulations while reaching overseas Chinese investors.

Bybit’s decision comes as the crypto industry faces increased global regulatory scrutiny. The exchange had previously blocked users from mainland China due to a crackdown on crypto trading. This realignment highlights Bybit’s adaptability and strategic planning in a competitive market.

The potential office closures indicate a focus on international markets, which are more strategic for growth given the current global regulatory climate. Bybit’s proactive steps reflect its dedication to compliance and market adaptation, aiming to enhance service accessibility and market reach.
