Upbit Challenges FIU Over Transaction Suspension

Upbit’s Operator Dunamu Appeals FIU Sanctions in Court

  • Dunamu, operator of South Korean crypto exchange Upbit, has filed an appeal against the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) sanctions.
  • The FIU imposed a three-month business suspension on Dunamu for not meeting regulatory obligations.
  • The suspension restricts new customer crypto transactions from March 7 to June 6, 2025.
  • Existing customers can continue trading during the suspension period.
  • Dunamu is accused of facilitating over 45,000 transactions with unregistered overseas providers.

Dunamu is challenging the FIU’s decision to suspend its operations for failing to comply with key regulations and seeks to overturn the sanctions through legal action in court.
