Crypto.com confirmed it will discontinue its consumer app services in Hong Kong on Feb. 1, 2027, while continuing to seek approval for its institutional exchange. It said affected customers had been notified and would receive instructions for closing their accounts and withdrawing funds.
The app and exchange are run by separate entities. Foris DAX HK Limited applied for a virtual asset trading platform license on Feb. 9, 2024, but remains “deemed-to-be-licensed,” a transitional status rather than full approval. HK01 reported that Crypto.com cited regulatory changes in emails to users.
