Coinbase confirmed on October 28 that Ripple USD (RLUSD) is available to eligible users on Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Exchange and its consumer app. Deposits and withdrawals are supported on the XRP Ledger, Base and Ethereum, and one-to-one dollar-to-RLUSD conversion is part of the initial offering. Regional eligibility still applies; Coinbase says Global Exchange availability and potential use of RLUSD as collateral will follow.
The rollout expands access to an existing dollar-referenced token, not a new cryptocurrency. RLUSD and XRP are distinct assets, so wider RLUSD use does not establish a price outlook for XRP.
