Binance’s November burn of Luna Classic (LUNC) trading fees had not arrived, according to StatsBin data, after the exchange had burned a share of those fees nearly every month since March 2023. Some community members suspect the delay is linked to a $6.3 billion hack of Binance, but the cause has not been confirmed.
A prominent community member claims Binance is moving LUNC to a more secure wallet before resuming the burn. His claimed contact with Binance has not been verified, and Binance did not respond to Decrypt’s request for comment. The FBI has attributed the hack to North Korea’s TraderTraitor group.
