BlockFi Ends Web Service, Payouts via Coinbase 2024

BlockFi, a cryptocurrency lending firm, has announced it will shut down its web platform by May 2024 and has formed a strategic partnership with Coinbase to facilitate client compensations. This move, scheduled to commence compensation in October 2023, aims to streamline services amidst the crypto market’s fluctuations. Unique to this situation is BlockFi’s approach to client asset conversion: users without a Coinbase account will have their assets converted to fiat, ensuring all clients are compensated. This initiative highlights a significant adaptation within the crypto industry, marking a pivotal step towards addressing financial obligations and enhancing client security.
