Euro Stablecoin Market Cap Doubles After MiCA

Euro Stablecoin Market Cap Doubles Following MiCA Implementation

  • The euro stablecoin market cap increased from approximately $340 million to $680 million after MiCA regulations took effect.
  • Monthly transaction volume for euro stablecoins surged nearly ninefold to $3.83 billion post-MiCA.
  • EURS, issued by Stasis, saw a remarkable growth of over 644%, reaching a market cap of $283.9 million.
  • EURC and EURCV also experienced significant volume increases of up to 1,139% and 343%, respectively.
  • Consumer interest in euro stablecoins rose sharply, with search activity increasing by up to 400% in Finland.

The rebound in the euro stablecoin market reflects enhanced regulatory clarity under MiCA, contributing to improved issuer obligations and reserve requirements. This shift has allowed these tokens to gain traction against their U.S. dollar-pegged counterparts.

With the market cap now at $680 million, euro stablecoins are still a small fraction of the $300 billion held in U.S.-based tokens, highlighting ongoing growth potential in this sector.(Source)
