21Shares has filed Form 8A for its Spot Ethereum ETF application, following a similar move by VanEck earlier this week. This comes after ARK Invest decided to withdraw from its Spot Ethereum partnership with 21Shares in early June, prompting 21Shares to proceed independently.
VanEck has also filed a Form 8-A and plans to waive all fees until 2025 or until their Ethereum ETF’s assets under management reach $1.5 billion. Analysts predict that Ethereum ETFs could start trading around July 2, with the SEC requesting minimal amendments to S-1 filings, hinting at an imminent decision.
The SEC is expected to approve the applications within the next two to three weeks. Approval of these ETFs would mark a significant milestone in providing investors easier access to Ethereum’s underlying technology. The move underscores the growing institutional interest in Ethereum and its potential for mainstream adoption.
