YieldMax, a well-known ETF issuer, has filed with the SEC to launch an Ether Option Income Strategy ETF. This ETF will be listed on the NYSE Arca as per a June 21, 2024 filing, just ahead of the potential debut of Spot Ethereum ETFs in the U.S.
This new ETF uses a synthetic covered call strategy to generate profits by leveraging the volatility of Spot Ethereum ETFs. The fund will avoid direct investments in Ethereum or Spot Ethereum ETFs, with Tidal Investments managing it and ZEGA Financial as the sub-adviser.
Previously, YieldMax launched the Bitcoin Option Yield Strategy ETF (YBIT) on NYSE Arca, with a 0.99% expense ratio. The market is now awaiting the SEC’s final decision on Spot Ethereum ETFs, expected around July 2, following amendments to S-1 filings by applicants.
This filing underscores YieldMax’s strategic positioning to capitalize on the growing interest in cryptocurrency-linked investment products, potentially offering investors new avenues for income and risk management.
