Ethereum ETF Launch Imminent: Bitwise Files Amended S-1

Bitwise has filed an amended S-1 form for its Ethereum ETF just days before the July 8 deadline, signaling readiness for launch. Analysts anticipate these ETFs could start listing within the next two weeks and potentially receive SEC approval by the end of next week.

On May 23, the SEC approved necessary forms for eight Ethereum ETFs, including Bitwise, setting the stage for the final S-1 statement effectiveness. This two-step process has the market eagerly awaiting the launch. Despite light comments on the S-1 forms, the SEC has taken its time with approvals, possibly due to summertime vacations.

Analysts are confident in a near-term launch, with Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart noting frequent amendments in S-1 forms. Bitwise’s amended form includes waiving the sponsor fee for the first $500 million in assets, a move mirrored by VanEck, suggesting competitive strategies to attract initial investors.

This proactive approach to regulatory compliance reflects a strategic positioning ahead of the anticipated market entry. The launch of these ETFs could significantly impact the broader market, making Ethereum more accessible to institutional and retail investors.
