Bitwise became the first U.S. spot Ethereum ETF issuer to publish Ethereum addresses, launching its ETH ETF on Tuesday. The firm disclosed several ENS addresses used to store Ethereum tokens, pledging to add more as the fund grows.
This is a historical milestone in crypto transparency, similar to Bitwise’s January move of disclosing Bitcoin addresses for its BTC ETF. ENS sub-names simplify Ethereum addresses, making them easier for users to read and track.
The transparency allows anyone to verify ETHW’s holdings and build public dashboards or smart contracts using ENS records. Bitwise and its competitors saw over $361 million in trading volume within 90 minutes of launching nine spot Ethereum ETFs.
This strategic move sets a new standard in ETF transparency, showcasing the unique advantages of blockchain technology.
