Brevan Howard Asset Management’s crypto branch, Brevan Howard Digital, has launched a new unit called BH Digital Solutions to help companies enhance returns on their crypto treasuries.
The unit, led by Chris Rayner-Cook, former head of trading at Coinbase, will initially focus on blockchain and crypto mining companies. This move comes as BH Digital, managing $2.3 billion, reported a 20% increase in assets in the first half of 2024.
Gautam Sharma, CEO of Brevan Howard Digital, called the unit a “natural extension” of their offerings, highlighting growing institutional opportunities in the crypto space.
Over 90 companies globally hold Bitcoin, with MicroStrategy owning more than 226,330 BTC, valued at over $15.7 billion. This underscores the increasing incorporation of crypto into corporate balance sheets.
