Fidelity disclosed a $4.7 million seed investment for its spot Ethereum ETF, amending its S-1 filing with the SEC. This makes Fidelity the first firm to file an amended S-1 Registration Statement for a spot Ether ETF.
Fidelity’s filing revealed that FMR Capital purchased 125,000 shares at $38 each to seed the fund, amounting to 1,250 Ether. Notably, the ETF will not include staking, although this was initially considered in March.
ETF analysts predict a busy period for spot Ether ETF filings, with approvals possibly starting as early as July. This early move by Fidelity could strategically position it ahead in the emerging market for Ethereum ETFs.
