In recent years, speculation swirled about the real BTC holdings of Grayscale, the largest corporate Bitcoin holder. Arkham Intelligence has now identified Grayscale’s Bitcoin assets on the blockchain, amounting to $16 billion.
Grayscale’s Bitcoin Trust is spread across over 1,750 wallets, each holding no more than 1,000 BTC. Despite previous assurances about secure storage on Coinbase, Grayscale hadn’t disclosed specific wallet addresses. Arkham’s findings reveal Grayscale as the second-largest BTC holder with approximately 627,779 BTC.
Grayscale also holds nearly $5 billion in ETH, $1.86 million in Chainlink, and $1.74 million in Polygon (MATIC), bringing its total assets to over $20.9 billion. The extensive distribution of these holdings raises questions about transparency and potential market manipulation.
This discovery underscores the complexities and strategic maneuvers in the cryptocurrency space, emphasizing the need for greater transparency and oversight.
