French startup Mistral AI has raised €600 million ($644 million) in Series B funding, achieving a valuation of $6 billion. The funding was led by General Catalyst with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Nvidia, Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, and Salesforce Ventures.
The funding round includes €468 million in equity and €132 million in debt. This capital ensures Mistral AI’s independence and accelerates its global mission in AI technology. CEO Arthur Mensch highlighted that the funds will fast-track their roadmap and international reach.
Previously, Mistral AI secured $415 million and launched the Mixtral 8x7B language model. The new capital will enhance their technological capabilities and market position. In February 2024, they formed a strategic partnership with Microsoft to drive AI innovations.
