CoinDCX confirmed on Oct. 25, 2026, that 15.99 million USDT had been lost from compromised deposit wallets, three days after CEO Sumit Gupta called reports of suspicious activity a “false alarm.” CoinDCX says some customers kept depositing funds into obsolete addresses despite warnings, and a system meant to move those funds into secure wallets malfunctioned. Investigators ZachXBT and Bitquery disputed the suggestion that the wallets had been fully retired, citing continued activity after a July 2025 breach.
CoinDCX says it absorbed the loss, credited customer accounts and kept trading and withdrawals operating normally. Including the earlier $44 million breach, the exchange says its security losses across the two incidents total nearly $60 million.
