MEXC Ends Support for Russia and Belarus

MEXC began winding down accounts for some users in Russia and Belarus on Oct. 20, citing compliance. It said affected users would receive individual instructions for closing positions and withdrawing assets; users who receive no message can keep trading. MEXC gave no deadline, named no regulator and did not say how many accounts are affected.

The EU’s ban on crypto transactions with providers in Russia and Belarus took effect on May 24, 2026. The excerpt does not establish that the ban prompted MEXC’s move. Russia’s central bank will allow direct peer-to-peer crypto trades between residents only until July 1, 2027, according to the report cited in the excerpt.
