Missouri Issues Cease-and-Desist Orders to Polymarket, Kalshi

Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway said her office sent cease-and-desist letters to Polymarket, Kalshi, Crypto.com, Novig, Underdog and Robinhood over sports event markets accessible in the state. The platforms have 30 days to stop offering those contracts in Missouri or risk enforcement; the source does not give a date for the letters.

Hanaway’s office calls the services unlicensed sports wagering and says the operators have not paid state license fees or the 10% tax on adjusted gross revenue from in-state sports wagering. The dispute turns on whether the contracts fall under state gambling law or the exclusive federal oversight claimed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
