Woman is world’s youngest self-made female billionaire

Fortune reported on October 21, 2026, that Kalshi co-founder and COO Luana Lopes Lara, 30, had an estimated net worth of $2.6 billion, making her the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire. The estimate follows Kalshi’s $1 billion funding round on May 8, 2026, which valued the company at $22 billion; earlier reporting put her stake at roughly 12%.

Sequoia Capital said Kalshi held roughly 95% of the US prediction-market share by July 2026. On September 30, 2026, Bloomberg reported that Kalshi was finalizing another funding round at around a $40 billion valuation ahead of a planned IPO; neither was described as completed.
