Bybit Lacks Approval for Digital Asset Services in France, AMF Warns

Bybit, a cryptocurrency exchange with 20 million users worldwide, faces regulatory hurdles in France as the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) flags its unauthorized status. Despite exiting the French market in October 2023 to comply with local laws, Bybit has yet to register as a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP), violating French regulations aimed at investor protection and preventing financial crimes. In response, Bybit is engaging in discussions with the AMF for necessary licensing. Meanwhile, Bybit continues to innovate elsewhere, enhancing security with Bybit P2P Shield and integrating Google Pay for easier digital asset transactions.

This situation underscores the importance of regulatory compliance in the volatile crypto market, highlighting Bybit’s commitment to adapting and securing its platform amidst challenges. The company’s efforts to navigate complex regulations reflect a broader industry trend towards ensuring investor safety and market trust.
