Over the past week, 10,000 new users have joined Ethereum’s Layer-2 platform, Arbitrum, pushing its daily trading volume to $840 million—a 113% increase. This surge coincides with Ethereum’s rally towards $4,000, reflecting a 5% rise for Arbitrum past $1.25.
Historically, Arbitrum reached an all-time high of $2.4 in January 2024. The recent influx of new users has raised the number of ARB token holders to 1.51 million. This growing demand is likely to drive further price fluctuations, especially with anticipated Ethereum ETF inflows.
A key feature of this trend is the potential for reduced sell-pressure as many ARB investors are expected to hold their assets, aiming for a price target of $1.50 and beyond. The ARB/USDT pair may gain momentum, potentially reaching $1.60 and $1.75 if it breaks the $1.27 resistance level.
Arbitrum’s price movement closely mirrors Ethereum’s, having gained 28% over the past week. The strategic importance lies in its ability to capitalize on Ethereum’s growth, positioning Arbitrum as a significant player in the Layer-2 ecosystem.
