Biden Exit Spurs $50M Democrat Donation Surge

The Democratic PAC raised over $50 million online after President Joe Biden exited the presidential race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. This surge in donations marks a pivotal moment for the Democrats as they consolidate behind Harris.

This significant influx of funds showcases renewed enthusiasm among supporters, particularly through digital donations, including contributions from crypto voters. Kamala Harris now has access to Biden’s $96 million war chest, a crucial asset for the upcoming campaign.

In contrast, former President Donald Trump raised $58 million in a single day after his indictment, highlighting his continued fundraising strength. Reports about Elon Musk’s supposed $45 million monthly contributions to a pro-Trump PAC were refuted by Musk himself.

The Chamber of Digital Commerce has urged Harris to adopt a pro-crypto stance, emphasizing the economic potential and financial inclusion offered by the digital asset sector. They highlighted the popularity of digital assets among Black, Latino, and immigrant communities, key Democratic constituencies.

This appeal underscores the strategic importance of the crypto sector in future Democratic policies. The significant support for Harris, coupled with a pro-crypto stance, could drive substantial progress and innovation.
