The latest update from the Token Unlocks App has alarmed the crypto world, forecasting significant price turbulence for six altcoins due to $177 million worth of upcoming token releases.
The cryptos in question are Aptos (APT), Xai (XAI), Immutable (IMX), Ethena (ENA), io.net (IO), and Hashflow (HFT). These unlocks, set to begin on July 7, will increase the market supply, acting as a bearish factor. Historical data shows that unlocking more than 1% of a crypto’s circulation supply can significantly impact its price.
For example, Aptos will see an 11.31 million APT unlock, equal to 2.49% of its supply, worth $63.33 million. Xai faces an even larger release of 198.40 million XAI, making up 71.59% of its supply, valued at $56.55 million. Immutable will unlock 32.47 million IMX, 2.15% of its supply, worth $40.59 million.
These unlocks are noteworthy because they historically lead to increased price volatility. For investors, understanding these dynamics is crucial for strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
