Ripple-backed t54 Labs said on October 1, 2026, that more than 10 million x402 payments had settled on the XRP Ledger, less than three months after the network reached 1 million. XRPL AI Hub data showed about 10.9 million all-time transactions, settling nearly 6,610 XRP and 9,870 RLUSD across 161 registered merchants.
RippleX engineering head J. Ayo Akinyele said AI agents paying for inference and data still dominated the volume, though other services were beginning to appear. His earlier suggestion that payments might reach 100 million within a couple of years was a forecast, not a measured result.
