Bitcoiner Joins Trump as VP Candidate

Ohio Senator JD Vance has been chosen as Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate for the upcoming November election. Vance, a long-time Bitcoin advocate, could soon be a heartbeat away from the presidency, especially after Trump’s recent assassination attempt.

In a significant milestone, Vance’s selection marks a clear pro-crypto stance from the Republican party. He has criticized SEC Chair Gary Gensler for his harsh regulatory approach and has actively pushed for policies favoring digital assets. In 2022, Vance disclosed owning between $100,000 and $250,000 in Bitcoin, reinforcing his belief in the cryptocurrency.

Vance’s history includes efforts to repeal the SEC’s restrictive rules on crypto custody and challenging unethical SEC actions, like the pursuit of Debt Box. His financial commitment to Bitcoin and legislative efforts set him apart from other politicians. Following his VP nomination, Bitcoin prices surged, nearing $65,000, reflecting market optimism.

With Vance and Trump leading the Republican ticket, there is a strong potential for pro-crypto policies under their administration, indicating a significant shift in U.S. digital asset regulation.
