SunContract, a blockchain-based energy trading platform, has launched the world’s first NFT marketplace for real-world solar panels in Slovenia. This project allows users to own and benefit from specific solar panels through NFTs.
SunContract, which began in 2017, has achieved several milestones, including the first national-scale P2P energy trading marketplace and expansion into Estonia and Croatia. The standout feature is the “Personal Power Plant,” enabling NFT holders to receive revenue from solar energy or use it directly.
Each NFT represents a solar panel, providing benefits such as revenue in SNC tokens and a hassle-free ownership experience. The platform’s tokenized solar farm in Višnje produces 517 kW. This initiative makes investing in renewable energy accessible and tradable, promoting a green energy transition.
The long-term goal of SunContract is to democratize renewable energy access globally, establishing itself as a leader in the industry.
