Crypto Policy Architect Rejoins Biden Administration

Carole House, co-author of President Biden’s 2022 executive order on crypto, has rejoined the White House as Special Advisor for Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Policy. Announced on LinkedIn on June 24, House will work at the National Security Council, focusing on secure and trustworthy digital economies.

Biden’s executive order aimed at addressing risks and benefits of digital assets marked a significant milestone in U.S. crypto policy. It called for exploring a U.S. central bank digital currency (CBDC) and mitigating national security risks posed by illicit use of digital assets.

House described the order as a “balanced” approach to overseeing the crypto industry, though she acknowledged remaining gaps. Her return underscores the strategic importance of cybersecurity and the evolving landscape of digital economies.
