Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) have seen over $50 million in short positions liquidated within the past 24 hours as prices surged to multi-week highs. This activity occurred early Wednesday, with Bitcoin climbing above $66k and Ethereum surpassing $3,500.
Despite the focus on shorts, long positions also faced significant liquidations, totaling over $58 million across the market. According to data from Coinglass, Bitcoin led with more than $30 million in short liquidations, followed by Ethereum at over $21 million.
Altcoins like Solana, Worldcoin, and XRP also experienced substantial liquidations, reflecting a broader market impact. In total, the market saw over $155 million in liquidations, with more than $94 million being shorts, indicating a strong bearish trend.
Analysts note a generally positive sentiment and consistent net inflows, suggesting potential for further price increases if Bitcoin stabilizes above $65k. This could position bulls to target new highs, emphasizing the strategic importance of current market movements.
