SBI Digital Markets Hires Ex-Bank Official for Expansion

SBI Digital Markets, a division of SBI Holdings, is expanding in South Korea by appointing former Bank of Korea executive Jai Yung Byun as principal consultant. Announced on July 10, Byun is expected to leverage his extensive experience to boost the firm’s growth and regulatory strategies in the region.

Byun’s history includes roles in international policy and foreign exchange at the Bank of Korea, alongside a stint as country manager for Northern Trust. His expertise, particularly in navigating South Korea’s financial landscape, will be critical.

SBI Holdings, known for its blockchain collaborations with Ripple and ventures into security token offerings, continues to innovate. This move underscores their commitment to institutional-grade governance and regulatory compliance in South Korea.
