Switzerland-based crypto bank Sygnum has onboarded 20 banks, including PostFinance, ZugerKB, LuzernerKB, and VZ Depotbank, to expand crypto access. Announced on June 27, this milestone allows these banks to enhance end-client services like purchasing, transferring, and holding crypto.
The expansion means a third of the Swiss population can now buy, hold, trade, earn, and transfer crypto. Notably, 61% of PostFinance customers who bought crypto were first-time investors in any asset class. This high acceptance is partly due to U.S. regulatory changes and the legitimization of Bitcoin and Ethereum through ETFs.
Switzerland’s crypto adoption rate surpassed 20% last year, the highest in Europe. Sygnum, launched in 2017, raised over $40 million in early 2024, highlighting its strategic importance in the growing crypto landscape.
